The marbled inside cover spreads are clean and unfaded, with no stamps, or other attachments, and no writing.There are no stains or tears. The spines, with light scuffs to some of the raised bands, are straight. There are no stains or tears, but there is surface cracking to the top of the bend from front cover to spine in Volume I. Affolter, with that name stamped to the top of the first blank spread. The full leather covers, brown morocco to the spines and corners, marbled to the front and back, with gold decoration and lettering, and with four raised bands to the spines, are the work of the bindery P. ![]() Pennequin, published for the Librairie des Amateurs, Paris, in 1914, and initialed under the set number by the publisher, F.
